Careening through leaves, rain and asphalt
down a gray water laden highway
to a funeral of a near 100 year old
She lay in the coffin
contrarily silent to her active life
The memories of my mother and her filter
through me
and summers spent in Chisholm
Mary found a $20 bill in front of Piggly Wiggly
We played in the alley and hung on poles
Now two worthy generations gone
and the world is up for grabs
for a new generation.
