Dear Secretary of State and Governor Dayton:
I filed for public office on July 20, 2015 to run for school board in ISD 709 in Duluth, Minnesota. I was invited to a screen for the DFL to screen for endorsements. I was given the time and date but not the location until the day before...See email below:
Kassie StanXXXXXXXX
The address for screening is 4XXX McCulloch st. It's a small yellow house in the middle of the block with a Gary Anderson sign in the yard. We will see you at 6:45 on Monday August 10th.

I have the official email on file. No one was chosen for recommendation to be put on the School Board on the meeting August 10, 2015. I was never given a delegate list as verbally promised by Deb Taylor the night of the screening (nor by 2 phone requests and one email request 8/17/2015 which I have on file.)
I made 7 phone calls the day of the convention and only 1 person said they were attending the convention on August 25, 2015. The other delegates verbally explained other commitments they had.
We were told by email to greet delegates in hallways and corridors one hour prior to the convention.
When I arrived an hour before, 60% were sitting there in the voting room with David Kirby for School Board stickers on. It made it difficult to approach these people who had their minds made up.
Four sitting members of the school board who hold public office on the Duluth School Board were present with dual status as delegates: Annie Harala, Judy Seligo-Punkyo, Mike Miernicki and Rosie Loeffler-Kemp. They are all currently serving as school board members. Rosie Loeffler-Kemp is the treasurer for David Kirby for School Board, my opponent in District 2.
I was given time to make a 3 minute speech to win people over. Since I did not have a delegate list until the morning of August 25, 2015, (I work graveyards for disabled people) I had limited time to call people as I worked the graveyard shift the night before.
I want an investigation done to see if it is a conflict of interest to have those who hold public office in the same genre to form a singular coalition to promote only one candidate during the endorsement process while they still hold public office for the same position being endorsed. This made myself and Charles Obije uncomfortable as we were two candidates who felt left out.
I also want a do over. I want another endorsement convention held before the primary September 15, 2015 so I can have adequate time to call all the delegates.
Please let me know what my rights are.
As a former employee of the Minnesota DFL, I expect better.
