Growing Up Hammerstrom Part TWo

The icy snow was crusty yet crystal and my mittens became one with the metamorphisis of the storm. I slid up and down the driveway, my tempered ligaments tormented and my thin body raced against the battle of nature. I was perhaps a fourth grader with not so matching scarf, hat, winter jacket. A worn yellow jacket and bell bottom jeans and the image of David Cassidy in my head. I imagine myself in the sixth grade, a dichotomous leap from fifth grade where my teacher, Mr. White was the bomb diggity. I remember the infamous April fools joke......

My world was enlarged at this point... I was a Partridge Family addict, Susan Dey follower and was familiar with all things in TV land.
