From healing handout

I have like a 20 page handout from G.A. and I thought this page was relevant for people who read my blog. Being in an intimate relationship is important for many. People like myself who have served the public as a whole and brushed aside my interpersonal relationships for a long time, don't really have that desperate quality of hanging onto somebody as my whole identity.  However, I think this handout applies to everyone who has battled an addiction whether it be alcohol, drugs, gambling, emotional problems, etc.  As a child of a closet alcoholic, I would just ignore my feelings or stuff them.  The females in our family were the heroines.  The men were weak.  My dad eventually overcame alcohol.  He died a near millionaire (around 800k) in the bank not counting his condo that was sold later.  Even so, he didn't really overcome some fundamental defects of character mentioned in the 12 steps of recovery.  Well, this page of the handout speaks for itself, so I hope my readers gather something from it.  Fix yourself, and your interpersonal relationships will be better.  One cannot do it alone, they need a 12 step support system, a church, a core group of honest friends and things of that nature.
