He was the pastor who accompanied Walter Scott's mother and issued the final rights to Walter Scott, who was brutally slain by a South Carolinian police officer. He stood by Marilyn Mosby as she issued charges against Baltimore police in the death of Freddie Gray. He is an activist, architect, preacher and recording artist.
